AN UNEXPECTED GIFT

They have always been there but I had not seen them.

The stay in the hospital, the confinement and the subsequent recovery has accentuated in me the perception of what surrounds us and that we do not value.

Time passes and I realize that they do not fail, year after year, they return  but I have never seen them like this, never felt them free. Being locked up at home they flew, for the first time in hundreds of years, without our threat. Meanwhile we longed, looking away from the screen, for the times when we were free.
